Customer Network Inventory and Data Revitalization Process Development
Business Issue

Client was implementing a new billing system and needed to update legacy
customer, product, service and financial data. Inaccurate customer records were
negatively impacting the client’s business operations and revenues. A physical
inventory of customer equipment had been determined to be the preferred method
of correcting this situation.
Solution

Bardess consultants developed the methodology, processes, systems and tools
to perform the physical inventory and a corresponding implementation plan.
Specifically, the consultants developed prototype systems, data cleansing
processes, reconciliation processes and product translation tables; identified
costs and benefits; developed laptop-based tools and processes to electronically
inventory customer equipment and report results; developed systems and processes
to reconcile inventory results and update customer records; developed processes
to select and track customer inventory candidates; developed training materials
and trained field technicians in the inventory processes.
Client Impact

Customer records were successfully updated increasing Customer Service
efficiency and lost maintenance contract revenue was collected.
