Data Cleansing & Data Migration 


Data Cleansing and Migration Implementation to Oracle ERP

Business Issue

The client needed data migrated from legacy systems to a new Oracle ERP system while improving overall data quality.

Solution

Bardess consultants managed a project to cleanse customer site and billing unit data and migrate it into a new billing system. Project included standardization of site names, normalization and validation of site addresses, and the identification and consolidation of duplicate sites. Assisted in the actual migration of the data from the legacy systems to the Oracle platform. Analyzed the customer data and then identified strategies and plans to cleanse and migrate data using a combination of tools (First Logic), data conversion processes and manual reconciliation. Consultants worked as part of a client/consultant team to cleanse the records.

Client Impact

Bardess developed a comprehensive cleansing process and identified that approximately 40% of the records required cleansing. The team cleansed the records and improved the efficiency of the transformation processes.
